What is naturopathy?

It’s a holistic form of medicine, that looks at the body as a whole and finds ways to keep it in balance and maintaining it at an optimal level, giving a person energy and bounce in their life.
Naturopathy supports the bodies own healing abilities whilst empowering the bodies own life for the best possible health.
We don’t diagnose western diseases, we look at how the body is functioning and try to help in understanding what causes your bodies health to diminish.
The Naturopathic philosophy is that the body has the ability to heal itself given the right environment.
You don’t have to be showing any symptoms of ill health to see a naturopath; you can see one just to maintain good health. This is a complimentary therapy to Western medicine.

What to expect?

Most consultations are 1 to 1 ½ hours. We carry out a number of tests including Life Blood Analysis, Iridology, Urine Salvia testing, Bio Impedance testing, Zinc Tally and Heavy Metal testing. Also, Indican testing which tests your gut permeability.

We then take a full case history and asses your diet.

• Life Blood Analysis – This testing is done from a pin prick from the finger tip, put onto a slide under a microscope, and then projected onto a screen. It provides instant and valuable information helping to develop any protocol that may be necessary for the treatment of the client.
• Urine/ Saliva Analysis – Believe it or not your pH range in your body, if outside of the optimal range, can cause a series of issues such as weight gain, fatigue, aches and pains, anxiety, hyper activity and growing pains in children and can limit the body’s ability to absorb nutrients at the optimal level even if taking supplements. If acidic, it can cause premature ageing as the cells in your body will start to break down earlier.
• Zinc tally – Zinc is an essential mineral and the zinc tally is used to test and ensure that your levels are sufficient. It is essential for healthy immune function, skin and wound healing.
• Urinary Indican Analysis - The Urinary Indican Test is an accurate, simple screening tool, allowing identification of the putrefaction of protein in the gastrointestinal tract. A positive test reflects a state of intestinal dybiosis.
• Iridology – Iridology is the study of the colour, pigmentations and structure of the iris of the eye. As they genetically relate through reflex response to the strengths and deficiencies of the body systems. Iridology does not diagnose a disease, but analyses areas within the body that are strong areas of potential weakness. As iridology shows genetic pre disposition, preventive therapies may be introduced to strengthen areas of potential weakness.

What to bring?

Any recent blood test results and prepare a list of questions. Write down anything that you may think are symptoms. We don’t want to miss anything in the consultation that may be important to you.
